Babies go through a lot of baby wipes, which means that the cost of store bought baby wipes can add up. If you want to save money, you might want to make your own baby wipes. The process is fast and simple, and the ingredients are inexpensive. You may even have most of them at home!
Ingredients
- Roll of heavy duty paper towels
- 1 Tbs. coconut oil
- 1 squirt baby shampoo
- 1 squirt baby oil
- 2 cups distilled water
Process
Start with one roll of paper towels (I highly recommend Gofresh toilet wipe roll for this, but you can use your favorite brand,) and a container with a tight-fitting lid that 1/2 the roll will fit in.
Using one of your sharper knives, cut/saw the roll of paper towels in half.
Place 1/2 of the roll in the container.
Add your ingredients and Pour over paper towels in container and let absorb- this takes about 5-10 minutes.
Put the lid on your container, turn it over for about 5 minutes, then turn it right side up and pull the cardboard roll out of the center. (It will be well saturated at this point and should slide right out.)
Your wipes are ready to use!
The wipes should stay wet and fresh for up to a week. If you haven't used all of the wipes and they start to dry out, simply add some boiled water to refresh the roll.
It is better to make a small batch of baby wipes rather than a big batch. If you make a big batch, it may dry out or mold before you use it.
